Rachel Kornacker, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

My name is Dr. Rachel Kornacker, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist with experience in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. I am excited to have the opportunity to share a little bit about myself and my approach to therapy.

As a therapist, I believe that each individual is unique and has their own story to tell. I also believe therapy is a collaborative process. The client must feel empowered to lead their therapy journey while I can support and guide them to meet their goals. My approach to therapy stems from cognitive-behavioral and systemic approaches, and I have specialized in providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families. My therapeutic style is direct, warm, and humorous, creating a safe space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of being criticized.

In addition to therapy, I also offer psychological testing services. Psychological testing can help diagnose a variety of conditions, such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and provide valuable insight into a person’s cognitive abilities, personality traits, and emotional functioning. I use evidence-based assessments to provide accurate and comprehensive results to my clients.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and “fur babies,” practicing yoga, and playing games. I love to find new activities in the area, such as exploring new restaurants, going ax throwing, or escape rooms. Recently, I have started working out at a gym, and it has been a wonderful way to unwind and create balance in my life.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my web page. If you think I could be the right therapist for you, please do not hesitate to contact me to schedule a consultation.

Aubrey

Aubrey Bornhoff, PsyD

Clinical Psychologist
Clinical Neuropsychology Resident

My name is Dr. Aubrey Bornhoff, and I am pursuing licensure in Clinical Psychology (expected licensure: Spring 2024). I am working part-time at Chicagoland Neuropsychology until I finish my residency training at another practice in August 2024. I graduated with my doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2022.

At this point, I am only offering testing services. I conduct psychological/neuropsychological testing to individuals across the lifespan, but have specialized training in pediatrics and young adults (ages 6-25). I am passionate about using a person-centered and evidence-based testing approach to come to the most accurate diagnosis and to create useful treatment recommendations. Concerns people often have when they seek testing include problems with attention, hyperactivity, organization, behavior, anger, mood, relationships, learning, obsessions/compulsions, anxiety, panic, and avoidance. Testing can provide valuable insights into a person’s cognitive abilities, personality traits, and emotional functioning.

When I begin full-time in August 2024, I plan to offer therapy services in addition to psychological testing. I believe you are the expert on yourself/your child, and I will come alongside you with the psychological expertise I have to help you/your child flourish. I take a warm, non-judgmental, and empathic therapeutic approach, thoughtfully integrating therapeutic theories based on you/your child’s needs. I want to provide you/your child with the skills needed to function best in relationships and in the important domains of life. My therapy tools have been greatly influenced by concepts in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), play therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), among others.

I have trained across settings including private practice, community mental health, medical hospitals, behavioral health urgent care, and PHP/IOP programming. I have worked specifically with individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, substance use disorders, early psychosis, non-binary gender and sexual identities, complex trauma, and poverty/homelessness across my training sites.

When I am not in the office and have free time, I enjoy playing disc golf and taking long walks outside. On my ideal day I would be with other people sipping coffee and playing games of any kind (sports, board games, card games) with many laughs and meaningful conversation.

Thank you for taking the time to read my biography, and please reach out if you feel I might be the right person to help you with your specific concerns through psychological testing or a more long-term therapy relationship.

Kelly

Kelly Ristau, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

My name is Dr. Kelly Ristau, and I am a licensed psychologist specializing in clinical and forensic psychology. I graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2016, and hold a PsyD in Clinical Forensic Psychology. I have experience working with adolescents and adults from all walks of life who have faced a wide variety of difficulties, and I am particularly passionate about working with those from culturally diverse backgrounds.

My primary role at Chicagoland Neuropsychology involves diagnostic testing services. I am skilled in assessing those who are seeking expert evaluations related to mood disorders, psychosis, personality disturbance, substance use, trauma, and neurocognitive functioning (i.e., ADHD, etc.). By using evidence-based measures, I am able to provide valuable insight into one’s functioning, traits, and abilities to inform a comprehensive report that includes clinical recommendations to help illuminate a path forward.

Therapeutically, I approach patients with knowledge, care, curiosity, humor, and unconditional positive regard. Everyone has a story to tell and a desire to be understood, and in the world we live in today, a safe and empathic space in which to do so is more important than ever. I work collaboratively with my patients to develop plans that are feasible and aligned with their goals, and then incorporate appropriate techniques and skills from a variety of psychological approaches to uniquely tailor their treatment.
Aside from more common clinical psychology services, I have extensive experience in forensic assessment of adults and juveniles related to matters involving fitness, sanity, juvenile transfer, sentencing/mitigation, and child protection. I am trained in threat assessment and management, and I am available for consultation related to threat and forensic assessment, case review, and expert testimony. I am also a published academic author and am currently engaged in research related to gun violence and mental health.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, watching anything that will make me laugh, writing fiction and poetry, traveling, dancing, and learning languages.

I appreciate you taking the time to check out my professional bio. If you think that I may be able to help you or assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me to schedule a consultation.

Desiree

Desiree Linderman-Jareo, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

My name is Dr. Desiree Linderman-Jareo, and I am a licensed psychologist specializing in neuropsychological and psychological testing. I graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2020. Throughout my training and career, I have worked in a variety
of settings, including private practice, therapeutic day school, community mental health, and skilled nursing facilities. I’ve had the pleasure of working with individuals of all ages with a variety of concerns with both their thinking abilities and emotions. I approach testing as a collaborative process in which I can help you discover what is causing your pain points in life.

While a diagnosis can be helpful for many reasons, I believe people are more than their diagnosis, and I strive to help people understand how their diagnosis presents in their day-to-day lives. In addition to discovering the origins of problem areas, I also value finding an individual’s strengths because this is an important part of “figuring out what’s going on.” I often work with individuals who are questioning if they have ADHD, autism, or have experienced changes in their thinking abilities.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, enjoying the outdoors (when it’s above 65 degrees), reading mystery novels, and crocheting.

Nate

Nate Pusateri, MA

Licensed Professional Counselor

My name is Nate Pusateri, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing psychotherapy at Chicagoland Neuropsychology. I believe that life can be stressful and overwhelming. Feelings of anxiety and depression can occur during challenging times. We all have unique identities and ways of expressing ourselves, and we all view the world and our roles in it in very personal ways. Non-judgmental, open-minded conversations within the context of a trusting relationship can help.

Work/career development, relationship stress, personal health challenges, financial stress, emotional/psychological stability, and behavioral regulation are issues common for many people. Having conversations surrounding these thoughts and feelings can be beneficial. Connecting with someone who can relate to your perspectives can relieve stress and provide a pathway to lasting, meaningful change.

I prioritize my client’s style of personality and preferences in communication. You can expect a meaningful, trusting relationship as the foundation for our work. I’m happy to meet with you to see if we are a good fit for therapy.
